Some helpful information when shopping for an orchid whether it be an artificial orchid or a live orchid plant.
Who are you buying from?
Reputation and longevity are important!
EntoProducts™ has been designing, manufacturing, distributing and importing award winning, select products since 1986. During this time we have continued to offer products that meet the standards for quality and uniqueness that you have learned to expect from us.
We have a large following of dedicated customers that have grown up using our products and look to us for their outdoor, hands on, nature collecting and exploring equipment and we do our best to stay focused. Although, every once in awhile we stray from our niche and introduce a very unique product that we think our customers will enjoy. Such is the case with these beautifully framed Thai orchids.
They are stunning!
More orchids are shipped from Thailand than any other country, so it is no wonder that they have developed a material known as Thai Clay and developed the artistic ability and flower designs to produce these amazing artificial flowers.
For a number of years now, orchids continue to be sold by more and more retailers, making them one of the most purchased types of house plants. They are stunning! Even some of the live plants look and feel like an artificial orchid. However, if you don't have a particularly green thump, once the original blooms fade away, you are left with a rather odd looking plant that you just can't get to bloom again no matter how much you try. Many of you know what we are talking about and maybe that is why so many new blooming plants are sold each year!
But before making a decision, here are some of the things you should ask yourself:
-
Why are you interested in having an orchid plant? Is it because of their beauty or because you love to spend your time nurture living plants?
Do you have time to care for a live orchid?
Do you have a place with the right amount and kind of sun light and temperature to successfully grow one?
Do you have the desire and time to learn how to care for one and the follow through to keep it alive?
Advantages of having a Framed Artificial Thai Orchid:

On the other hand, if you want to consider a live orchid, here are some general care instructions for growing live orchid plants.
-
General care for live orchids:
-
Lighting: Orchids like an east or west facing window with about 10-15 hours of shaded sunlight each day. In the winter supplemental light may be needed. The orchid plants must also be protected from unfiltered sunshine and they should be moved away from a window on a cold and frosty night.
Air Circulation: Good ventilation is required as they don't tolerate hot and stuffy conditions. Ideally daytime temperatures should be about 70F in the summer and about 60F in the winter. Cooler nights are important, there should be a 10F drop but be sure to avoid cold draughts which can be fatal to orchids.
Moisture: Orchids should be watered when the growing mix feels dry to the touch, soaking it thoroughly using soft, tepid water. Since orchids are grown in an airy fast-draining mix, allow time for the water to be absorbed, then water again, covering the entire soil surface. The orchid mix should not be kept constantly wet, nor should it be allowed to dry out completely as either will stunt or worse yet kill your orchid plant.
Humidity: Orchids thrive in humid conditions. To increase humidity, place the plants on a tray of small pebbles. Keep the pebbles moist by filling the tray with water up to the bottom layer of pebbles. The pot should not be sitting in the water, only on top of the pebbles. As the water evaporates it will help to provide the humidity needed. Additional humidity can be added by misting. Distilled water is recommended to avoid mineral deposits from building up on the leaves as the water dries. Mist around the plant allowing the fine mist to settle on the foliage as opposed to spraying the plant directly.
Fertilizer: To have any success growing orchids, you must fertilize them. Here we recommend that you consult with a local or online nursery to discuss the frequency and type of fertilizer that would be best for your particular type of orchid plant.
To provide you with further details on the beauty of our artificial orchids and the quality of the display cases here are some addition views of one of our framed orchids.
